In 1986, contemporary composers Iannis Xenakis and Morten Feldman had a conversation about ideas of music, art, and humanity.

This conversation became the starting point in which we began to explore similarities and differences between art forms, in the way we approach concepts and create art.

SOTA presents an interdisciplinary dialogue whereby ideas of stillness, silence, singularity, and boredom are explored and exchanged.

“Where in life we do everything we can to avoid anxiety, in art we must pursue it. This is difficult. Everything in our life and culture, regardless of our background, is dragging us away. Still, there is this sense of something imminent. And what is imminent, we find, is neither the past nor the future, but simply - the next ten minutes.”
- Morton Feldman
