Filling the streets of artwork and hope, Photos courtesy of National Arts Council The National Arts Council Singapore's Streets of Hope featured a collection of artworks from homegrown artists in what was possibly the largest presentation of local artwork, raised high on street banners in the Civic District. Allen & Overy Artwork Appreciation Lunch, Allen & Overy Artwork Appreciation Lunch Selected Visual Arts student artists and their families were invited to Allen & Overy for the Artwork Appreciation Lunch in July this year. This is part of an ongoing collaboration with the law firm to showcase our Visual Arts students' artworks in a 1-year exhibition in their premises at OUE Bayfront. Year 5 Visual Arts student Nuryn Qistina Binte Suhaimi had the opportunity to mentor a group of students from Assumption Pathway School (APS) in an artist-student collaborative workshop of four, paints. These works were later exhibited at APS' year-end art exhibition, 'Equilibrium', from 8 to 13

Nurturing young artists through the 2021 Primary 6 Art Competition, The SOTA Primary 6 Art Competition was launched in 2018 as one of SOTA’s outreach programmes to encourage and provide a platform for young artists to express their creativity and hone their talents in Visual Arts, and has since become an annual nation-wide drawing and painting competition, in Singapore with over 1000 submissions. These young students submitted artworks based on one of the three, to the SOTA Junior Academy and received prizes in the form of art supply vouchers and Mapletree vouchers

Dirk Stromberg (Faculty of Music) looks into sound art and instrument design, and Khiew Huey Chian (Faculty of Visual Arts) oversees sculpture-installation
