The Cave

Theatre alumna Selma Alkaff starred in theatre production, The Cave, from 9 - 12 June 2016. The Cave by Annabel Tan was one of the eight plays featured in The Twenty-Something Theatre Festival organised by theatre-maker, Tan Kheng Hua. All eight plays in the festival were created by playwrights in their twenties, without guidance from professional mentors or theatre companies.

The Cave was a monologue written to explore the nature of the female body and the expectations heaped upon it. This piece was inspired by actual comments from people too guarded to express their thoughts. It questioned whether an interior voice speaking in its own codes can speak to others rather than remain trapped inside one person.
