Singapore International Water Week and World Cities Summit

At the Lee Kuan Yew Prize Award Ceremony and Banquet 2010, the highlight event on both Singapore International Water Week and World Cities Summit, Amni Musfirah Binte Abdul Rashid sang “What A Wonderful World” accompanied by SOTA string ensemble comprising Shannon Yeo, Cheston Tan, Jocelyn Ng, Ryan Goh, Bettina Hu, Charlotte Ng, Thaddeus Chung, Amy Tan, Calvin Ong. The SOTA string ensemble was conducted by Mr. Lim Soon Lee (Faculty of Music).

Youth Olympic Games 2010

Visual Arts students, Grace Lim Yun Si and Chan Si Yun conceptualised the Singapore Friendship Fabric Art for the Youth Olympic Games 2010. The preparation of materials and construction of the final artwork were assisted by fellow Visual Arts students - Lee Lip Jiang, Ruth Shirley Janarthanam, Jonathan Tan, Tan Hui Ying, Tan Shee Yin, Low Jo An, Andrew Yip and Denise Nicole Yap.

14th Commonwealth Society of Teachers Dancing Summer School

At the 14th Commonwealth Society of Teachers Dancing Summer School in 2010, the following awards were clinched: Level 5 Overall Winner - Venetta Ho; Level 5 Silver - Elaine Ng and Yong Yingxin; Level 6 Overall Winner - Thaddaeus Low; Level 6 Silver - Natalie Lam and Ivan Koh.

National Chinese Music Competition 2010

In the National Chinese Music Competition 2010, Gillian Chong and Koh Cheng Jin clinched the 2nd Prize in the Zhong Ruan Youth Category and Yang Qin Youth Category respectively, and Bennett Bay emerged as the 1st Prize winner in the Suona Open Category.

American Ballet Competition 2010

Natalie Lam En Ru was one of the first two Singaporeans to win an award (the Encouragement Award) at the prestigious American Ballet Competition, Austin, USA, 2010.

Lee Yun Chai clinched 1st Prize (tie) and Nicolette Chin emerged runner-up in the Youth Category in HarpFest III 2010 competition at the Cempaka International Ladies' College, Malaysia.

Youth Performance Night, River Hongbao 2010

A drum ensemble comprising Goh Yan Lee, Bennett Bay, Marcus Lam and Lee Yu Ru performed at Youth Performance Night, River Hongbao 2010, a festive Chinese New Year celebratory event whose five key organisers are Singapore Press Holdings, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, People’s Association, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Singapore Tourism Board.

In Singapore Mathematical Olympiads Competition 2010, SOTA students scored a total of 2 Bronze and 7 Honourable Mention in the Junior and Senior Categories. Junior Category: Bronze - Megan Janine Augustin; Honourable Mention - Ankita Mukherji, Kong Yin Ying, Shruti, Yeo Zhi Yi, Rachel Chew Min Qi and Sheryl Ang Shi Le; Senior Category: Bronze - Tan Shee Yin; Honourable Mention - Jonathan Tan Song Han.

Lancôme Celebrates Creativity: Developing Youth In Arts project

Visual arts students worked in teams to create one-minute flash format videos that clearly articulated the key embodiments of the Lancôme brand in Lancôme Celebrates Creativity: Developing Youth In Arts project, with one winning entry from each thematic category receiving a fully sponsored academic year worth of tuition fees, approximately S$5,000. Emerging tops are Jade Chan Su Hui and Janel Ang Jia En with Believe in Beauty; Bevin Ng Jie Wei and Mariel Chee Wei Lin with Innocence; and Kirti Upadhyaya and Valerie Ng Suying with Amalgamation.
