Ryan Benjamin Lee (Class of 2015) was awarded the National Arts Council (NAC) scholarship (Undergraduate) and will be pursuing his undergraduate studies in Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts. Ryan hopes to expand his knowledge of moving image animation and film history and allow these disciplines to intersect with other art forms via multidisciplinary productions and performances.

Ashley Ho (Class of 2017) has been awarded the National Arts Council (NAC) Arts Scholarship (Undergraduate) and she will be pursuing her undergraduate studies in Dance at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands. Ashley hopes to develop and share a perspective that is fresh, genuine, and relevant through her studies and community engagements.

Denise Tan (Class of 2017), pictured with Mr Laremy Lee (Literature teacher), was awarded the Defence Merit Scholarship offered by MINDEF to a select few each year. Denise will be pursuing Liberal Arts at the University of California. She is motivated by her love for Singapore’s unique culture; which is possible because of the peace, security and stability in the country.

Ramkumar Shivanuja (Class of 2017) was awarded the Freeman Asian Scholarship and she will be pursuing Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, USA. She is the first SOTA alumna to major in music and study ethnomusicology at the institution.

Tay Ru Hui (Class of 2017) was awarded the MOE Teaching Scholarship and she will be pursuing Teaching and Geography and Social Studies at the National Institute of Education (NIE). Through her education at SOTA, she acquired a love of learning, and hopes to share her experiences as an educator. Ru Hui wishes to see greater integration of arts-based learning across schools in Singapore, and for students from different backgrounds to have similar opportunities to immerse themselves in the arts.
