We are always happy to have our alumni back at SOTA. In July, we welcomed back Samuel Phua and Lin Xiangning (Music, 2015) for an evening summer recital and pre-show talk at the SOTA Orchestral Rehearsal Studio. With Samuel on the saxophone, and Xiangning on the piano, guests were treated to an evening of Christian Lauba's Jungle and Fernade Decruck's Sonata in C#, among other works.

Samuel is pursuing his tertiary education at Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki while Xiangning was accepted into the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, after she graduated from SOTA. Xiangning recently shared her journey from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Young Artist Programme through to graduate studies, and the importance of context in her musical growth and education journey.
