The SGIFF Youth Jury & Critics Programme (YJCP) aims to nurture and guide a generation of young writers on cinema from the region. In its lead-up and during the Festival, the young critics receive mentorship, and their articles and video essays are published in the festival’s film journal, Youth Meets Film.

Year 5 Film student Ethan Kan and Film alumni Joanne Ho (Class of 2016) and Emma Ting (Class of 2018) were writers for the 2019 edition, whose works are viewable at the Programme's website.
