In the month of our nation’s birthday, the Esplanade celebrated the things that make us uniquely Singapore in the Red Dot August series! SOTA alumni Bennett Bay (Music, 2013), Krish Natarajan (Theatre, 2013), Syakirah Noble (Music, 2017) and Amni Musfirah (Music, 2012) were part of the exciting programme!

Narrated by Krish and accompanied by Bennett on guitars, Two Siblings was originally written by Bennett as a series of three worlds, each with their own short stories. For Red Dot August, the duo explored the lives of two siblings from the first world.

Syakirah was featured in A Zubir Said Tribute, a screening of the Red Dot August 2017 event where an ensemble of musicians came together specially to celebrate Zubir Said’s 110th birthday and his 30th death anniversary.

In her show, An Intimate Performance with Amni Musfirah, Amni shared songs that she has written and the stories that come with them. A strong advocate of female empowerment, the pop singer-songwriter and producer played songs about women power and love and all the emotions one would feel as a woman.
