The Straits Times carried a podcast interview with Year 2 Music student Evan De Silva, as part of a column about lifestyle picks during Singapore's circuit breaker period in May 2020. Evan was fresh off being judged the overall winner and best instrumental player for the 8th Thailand International Ukulele Contest held earlier that month. The title was his biggest win so far, since he picked up the instrument at the age of 8.

Evan's winning and original composition Stallion was said to be "a stunning show of lightning-quick strumming bursts and tender harmonic notes". The Straits Times commented that Evan "is showing signs of being one of Singapore's biggest teenage stars when it comes to the loveable small Hawaiian instrument".

Congratulations Evan! Listen to the podcast here.
