SOTA's 11th Heads and Managers Retreat
SOTA held its annual Heads and Managers Retreat (HMR) in August 2018.
Conducted on Monday, 13 August and Tuesday, 14 August 2018, the HMR was attended by forty-two key personnel. This included the School Steering Committee, Heads of Department, Subject Heads and Corporate Managers.
In line with SOTA's decennial celebrations, the retreat took the theme of "10 years ahead: Taking stock, moving forward".
On the first day, Ms Yvonne Tham, Chief Executive Officer of The Esplanade Company Limited, presented the retreat's keynote address. She spoke about local, regional and global challenges and opportunities in education, the arts and arts education in the near future.
Subsequently, school leaders and middle leaders partook in sessions over the two days to unpack and align SOTA's refreshed mission and vision; brainstorm and co-create strategic initiatives; as well as bond during team-building activities.
We even had the opportunity to mingle and chat with members of the SOTA Board, who graced our cohesion dinner in the evening of the first day.
The HMR was organised by the school's Professional Development Committee and supported by the Office of Administration.
