Printmaking Workshop with MDAS

On 17 October, 22 SOTA Visual Arts students hosted ten MDAS (Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore) members for a printmaking workshop at SOTA. This was the second year SOTA has partnered MDAS for this activity.

MDAS members' artworks were pre-carved onto the linoleum sheets by SOTA students. During the two-hour printmaking workshop, two and three SOTA students were paired with an MDAS member to apply paint on the sheets and transfer the designs onto paper, creating beautiful prints.

Selected prints were presented as tokens of appreciation to the Guest-of-Honour and key donors at the Sunburst Fundraising Concert on 8 November. The prints were also displayed at the Concert Hall Foyer that same evening.

This opportunity allows SOTA students to learn from others with different experiences and perspectives, and apply their school learning in service of the wider community.

We look forward to creating more beautiful works of art with our MDAS partner next year!
