As part of a collaboration with The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS), SOTA students and staff had the privilege of attending a talk by Mr Jayaprakash Bojan (JP), National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2017.

At the talk, JP shared beautiful photos each with their own stories and adventures! Year 3 Theatre student, Sophia-Ines Klein volunteered her time to be the emcee for the evening and got to take one of JP's photos home with her too.

Following up from the talk, four SOTA students were invited by PSS to participate in a workshop at the Singapore Zoo with JP. Year 4 Visual Arts student, Alisa Brigid Yeo, attended the workshop and was kind enough to share some of the beautiful photos she took and her takeaways from the workshop with us!

"This being one of my very first animal portraits, is really special to me and this was only made possible by the tips JP had provided in the briefing prior to this walk."

"The most enjoyable part of this workshop was when everyone had stood around a tree with their necks craned to the canopy with lenses as long as their arms extended to the sky in hopes of catching an image of a lone monkey in the tree for a good 20 minutes. It made me realise the lengths people would go to get that one shot."

Thank you PSS and JP. We look forward to more amazing collaborations in the future!
