National Education (NE) Youth Dialogue Sessions @ SOTA

As part of SOTA's Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) programme, our Year 5 and Year 6 students hold Youth Dialogue sessions with Office Holders and Senior Civil Servants each year. The NE Youth Dialogue sessions aim to create awareness of Singapore policies and practices, as well as to instill an understanding of the challenges we face as a nation.

This year, we were delighted to have Mrs Rosa Daniel, Deputy Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Chief Executive Officer, National Heritage Board, with us on 27 July 2016 to speak to our Year 5 students, and Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Trade and Industry, to speak to our Year 6 students on 3 August 2016.

Ms Sim Ann engaged in a lively discussion with the Year 6 students.

Both speakers discussed issues pertaining to the arts, heritage and culture in Singapore during the Dialogue. They also responded to some of our students' concerns about the future of the local arts scene.
