Awards Day 2018 - award collage

SOTA celebrated our students' achievements at the annual Awards Day on 30 July. The Guest-of-Honour, Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, launched the SOTA Arts Development Award (ADA) during the event. ADA is an initiative funded by Temasek Foundation Nurtures, which provides artistically inclined primary school students greater access to an arts education at an early age. 23 primary school students were awarded the ADA in the pilot run, and we were delighted to have some of the recipients join us at the launch.

The audience was treated to a percussion performance "Theatric No. 4" by the Music faculty, a solo Dance piece "fight or flight or fright" choreographed and performed by Allison Tan (Year 6), an excerpt from "Smartbutt", a Theatre production, and an interdisciplinary piece "Orchestra", based on an original poem by Literary Arts student Ethan Kan (Year 3). After the ceremony, guests were invited to view the Visual Arts Graduating Cohort of 2018 exhibition at the SOTA Gallery and a photo exhibition, TENtative, specially curated for SOTA's 10th Anniversary by the SOTA Photography crew.
