IDA National Coding Competition (Ace of Coders)

SOTA students made a podium finish, achieving the third placing at the Ace of Coders, a National coding competition organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), on 10 September 2015 at SUNTEC City.

Over 450 students participated in the competition which involves the writing of codes to defeat their opponents in a fantasy gaming environment in front of a live audience. Two of our Year 5 students, Adrian Schalk and Serene Soon, came in third and our Year 2 student, Isabella Ocampo, was voted the top female coder in the Junior Category. Serene and Isabella were two of the very few female coders in the competition.

It was certainly a momentous victory for the school as our students excel in areas beyond the fields of the Arts.
