Joseph Lee was born in Ipoh, Malaysia. He began his piano lessons seriously when he was 12 years old, and passed the Grade 8 with high distinction at 15 years old. He obtained the Trinity College Licentiate (LTCL) when he was 17 yeas old under free tutorage of Peter Lim, and Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) under the late Mr Ong Lip Tat. He then pursued his higher piano studies at Mozarteum, Salzburg.

Joseph began teaching at 15 years old, as a specialist on various examination boards such as ABRSM, Trinity College and more. He has produced many young pianists and composers who have graduated from various conservatories worldwide.

Joseph began accompanying for ballet when he was 14 years old, and started playing for Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) majors examinations at 17 years old. He has worked with arts institutions, a ballet company and has been the accompanist for many masterclasses, dance competitions, summer schools and workshops.

Joseph is also actively involved in instrumental accompaniment (for violin, viola, cello, vocal). He has also taken on the role as piano accompanist in music competitions, graduation recitals and music examinations.

Outside of dance accompaniment, Joseph is actively involved with the Lions Club, an international charity organisation. He was appointed President for two consecutive terms under LCS (HOST) club.

Joseph has been a freelance music instructor and dance accompanist at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) since 2009, and School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA) since 2010.
